A little about me:
I just finished with 25+ years with the Air Force. A few years ago, my wife and I thought that after retirement from the military, we would have a
chance to get around and do some site-seeing. We looked around to find a nice touring bike, but all my wife could think of was the wreck I had
with my daughter Bambi on my Vulcan. She compromised and said she would ride on a trike. We looked around and found out that the triked
factory bikes were way out of our price range. So I started looking at other means. I remembered something about VW trikes when I was
growing up. Never seem see many of them anymore, it seemed, but on to the Internet I went. WOW! I couldn't believe all the info out there.
Having always had some sort of VW, it just seemed like the way to go. My red trike used to be my Baja Bug! Our thinking was if we ever broke
down any place, I could go to NAPA or Auto Zone and get back on the road. There's a lot of small towns that don't have motorcycle shops, and
the last thing we wanted was to be stuck someplace while parts were being Fed-X'd to us! We've really had a great time so far with many more to
come.
We got started with Trike Riders International with the TX-1 Group. You'll never meet a more friendly group of people, we tried to stay active as
much as we could, and every moment with the group was something to remember. When we left Texas, it was with a heavy heart. We were torn
between finally going back home to Washington or leaving some of the best friends you could have. The tug of home finally won out though, and
now back home in Elma, Washington.
